Timetable For Major Power Outage In Parts of Accra Announced

Accra, Ghana//-Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has announced that some major parts of Accra are expected to experience power outages from today, October 5 to December 5, 2021.

According to the company, this has become necessary to enable it to execute “planned works” within the Achimota – Mallam corridors for the decommissioning and replacement of existing lines with new higher-capacity conductors.

In a letter asking the Electricity Company of Ghana’s (ECG) implementation of the move, GRIDCo indicated that it has become crucial “to transfer as much load as possible to Pokuase, Achimota, Accra East and Tema in order to limit loading at Mallam and Accra Central substations.”

The areas to be affected have been categorised into groups A, B and C.
