Provincial week sees stakeholders come together at EC legislature

CAPE TOWN, South Africa, October 10, 2017,-/African Media Agency (AMA)/- The Eastern Cape delegation of the National Council of Provinces (NCOP) will today receive an update briefing on programmes the province and municipalities are implementing. Permanent delegates to the NCOP are embarking on a week-long Provincial Week Programme, a programme that sees permanent delegates to the NCOP visit home provinces across the country to assess service delivery.

The briefing will also be attended by Members of the Executive Councils (MECs), the Local Government Association (SALGA), Mayors, leaders of political parties, chairs of committees in the Legislature and other relevant stakeholders. The Premier of the Eastern Cape Province Mr Pumullo Masualle will be represented by the MEC for Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism Mr Sakhumzi Somyo. The delegation will split into three groups, that will visit OR Tambo, Chris Hani and Sarah Baartman districts.
