Accra, Ghana//-Deutsche Welle (DW) has selected Sani Abdul-Rahman, a broadcast journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation to participate in the Global Media Forum 2022 in Bonn, Germany.
The annual Forum offers a unique interdisciplinary platform for media professionals as well as stakeholders from politics, civil society, culture, education, business and science from across the world to gather and share experience since 2008.
“It’s a pleasure to be part of one of the world’s biggest media conferences. And I thank the DW for the opportunity. This will certainly help improve my work,” the award-winning journalist said.
This year’s event comes amidst global challenges including COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, Russian invasion of Ukraine and the return of Taliban rule in Afghanistan.
The two-day event explores opportunities to foster resilient journalism in times of crisis.
“We seem to find ourselves in a perpetual state of imbalance and escalating emergencies. This impression is further exacerbated as digitalization and social media prompt us to take part in each human-made crisis around the globe in real time and at an accelerating rate,” DW Global Media Forum said in a statement.
The DW Global Media Forum 2022 year’ is on the theme: ‘Shaping tomorrow, now’.
