Standard Chartered Bank Ghana Appoints New CEO

CEO of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC (SCB Ghana), Xorse Augustine Godzi

Accra, Ghana//-Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC (SCB Ghana) has appointed Xorse Augustine Godzi as its new Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director, effective June 11, 2026.

He is currently the Head of Ghana Corporates and an Executive Director on the Board of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC (SCB Ghana).

Mr Godzi has diverse and extensive experience in corporate and institutional banking across multiple geographies in Europe and Africa, spanning over 20 years.

He joined SCB Ghana in 2002 and has worked in various roles across the Standard Chartered Bank Group.

He worked in Standard Chartered London between 2006 and 2010 as Director, Global Corporates. Between 2010 and 2013, he was the Head of the Commodities Traders and Agribusiness and International Corporates segments in SCB Ghana.

From 2013 through 2016, Mr Godzi relocated to Standard Chartered Bank South Africa, where he was Head, Commodities Traders and Agribusiness for Africa.

From 2017, he served as the Head of International Corporates & Financial Institutions businesses and Head Commercial Banking in SCB Ghana until 2020 when the Bank merged its Global Banking and Commercial Banking businesses into Client Coverage, CCIB. PUBLIC Xorse has in-depth knowledge of key industry sectors in Africa, spanning mining, energy, manufacturing, agriculture, financial services, real eand state a, amongthers.

He is experienced in providing sustainable solutions to clients and managing client relationships across multinational, regional, local, and public sector client segments.

Mr Godzi holds a BSc. Administration (Accounting) degree from the University of Ghana, Legon and is an affiliate of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

He is passionate about giving back to society and is deeply committed to raising the next generation of leaders.
