Serame Taukobong, MTN Ghana CEOMTN Ghana’s engineers are working “tirelessly” to resolve the problem with *170# MTN Mobile Money delivery channel, MTN’s Mobile Money Senior Manager, Eli Hini has assured.

He stated: “Our engineers are working tirelessly to resolve the problem with *170# in the shortest possible time. While the MTN technical team is working round the clock to resolve the issue, affected customers who haven’t already done so are encouraged to visit any MTN branch or store for assistance.”

Mr Hini  said subscribers of the service that their monies are “absolutely safe and secured explaining that the problem which started a week earlier was as a result of system fluctuation and would be restored in the shortest possible time.

He was speaking at a media briefing, Tuesday in Accra to address the *170# system fluctuation which has caused MTN Mobile money subscribers attempting to access the service some inconveniences.

Subscribers to the MTN Mobile Money service usually are able to access it through three channels –My MTN menu on their phones –the internet and *170#.

In view of the uneasiness one has to go through in accessing the *170# channel, Mr. Hini advised that all customers who typically access the service through that channel should use ‘My MTN’ menu on their phones.

Asking for further calm on the ground, he said MTN “appreciates the patience exercised by customers and sincerely apologizes for the inconveniences.”
