Accra, Ghana, January 10, 2020//-Ghanaian top fashion model Ms Araba Sey is poised to put Ghana and Africa on the world map within the next few years.

The Accra-based versatile model who disclosed this in an interview said: “My vision for Ghana and Africa on the world’s fashion modeling map is for the world to recognise and acknowledge the beauty and uniqueness of African fashion”.

This can be done through the heavily promotion of “our locally manufactured fabrics, our distinctive, beguiling and creative designs made by our talented African Designers as well as our eccentric black models through my tours, fashion shows and more”, Ms Sey explained.

The multiple award-winning fashion model, maintained that her vision for the fashion modeling industry in the next three years is to globally promote African fashion.

Ms Sey who is also a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is eager to elevate the black fashion models all-encompassing through her personal international tours.

She would collaborate with other stakeholders to organize African international fashion shows and seminars to motivate Ghanaian and African fashion designers. The details of this project would be announced soon, Ms Sey stated.

Ms Sey who has won several awards within a short stint in her modeling career maintained that she has all it takes to achieve her vision of taking the African continent to the global modeling industry.

Ms Sey is a young and highly spirited lady vehemently driven by passion and ambition and stops at nothing to inspire, impact and achieve whatever she sets her mind on to do. This vision motivated her to venture into the Ghanaian fashion modeling industry at a tender age.

With a Bachelors Degree in Textiles and Fashion from KNUST, she is well cut out for the industry. Her pursuit into fashion modeling was also born out of her interest and passion for the industry.

The legacy she wants to leave behind

The legacy Ms Sey wants to leave behind as a model is giving the modeling industry a good name by blotting out the negative perception people have about the modeling industry as well as raising the standards and respect for models as a brand.

How rewarding is the industry
The fashion modeling industry makes campaigns and products look more professional and desirable to customers or the public.
“Besides that, being part of this industry as a model gives you exposure and recognition through your advertisements and photographs for brands or companies. You are sometimes privileged to secure projects or gigs that require you to travel domestically or internationally .You also receive an attractive income working for top brands”, according to her.

Advice

Ms Sey’s advice to young models is that venturing into the modeling industry is a challenging one. Just as taking up any career, to be successful in modeling you need to intensify your passion, focus, zeal, creativity and consistency to make it to the top.

“There will be ups and downs but determination and perseverance can take you far. To be a top model you should dare to be different”, she added.

She also used the opportunity to advice the youth that success is a process. Don’t be too desperate and feel you can swivel into a millionaire or be successful overnight.

Ingredients of success include toil and most at times failure. It is never an abnormality to fail but a wax for success and greater heights, the pretty Ms Sey further advised.

Ms Sey who is also the CEO of AS Grooming Hub, a leading hub for young people where she educates and mentors them on career choices, entrepreneurship, modeling and on personal development, is an inspiration to a lot of the youth in the country.

The beautiful Ms Sey is currently a multiple award winning fashion model who has worked with top brands in and outside Ghana, she is a career coach and an influencer.
As an influential model Ms Sey has featured in top brands and media platforms both in and outside Ghana.

In the field of Career Coaching, she has played an essential, impactful and influential role in the lives of the youth through mentoring and grooming them into starting and managing their businesses and career.
