CANAL+ Group Acquires Rwanda’s ZACU Entertainment

CANAL+ Group today announced the acquisition of ZACU Entertainment, a major player in the production and distribution of content in Rwanda.

This acquisition allows CANAL+ Group to significantly strengthen its audiovisual activities in Rwanda by benefiting from a large content offer of more than 500 hours of new films and TV series produced per year and a catalog of 700 hours, all in Kinyarwanda.

CANAL+ Group is thus pursuing its development strategy in Rwanda, a country where it has been present for 10 years, with a subsidiary CANAL+RWANDA established in 2020.
Indeed, in addition to its commercial activities, the Group aims to launch soon an entertainment TV channel 100% in Kinyarwanda that will promote all Rwandan talents and productions.

With production companies PLAN A in Ivory Coast, ROK STUDIOS in Nigeria and now ZACU Entertainment, the Group reiterates its commitment to support audiovisual production on the African continent to offer quality contents that meets its subscribers’ expectations.

ZACU Entertainment was created in 2017 by Wilson Misago, writer and producer of successful TV series and founder of Rwanda’s first video-on-demand platform in 2019.
