Bread Equipment Maker Seeks African Investors

brEADMecatherm, the world’s leader in the manufacturer of ovens, machines and automatic production lines for industrial bakeries is seeking for African investors to invest in the French company.

 The Head of Business Development of the Mecatherm Group, Raymond Nogael who disclosed this in an interview with the African Eye News.com at the just-ended African CEO Forum in Geneva, Switzerland said “We want local investors from Africa to invest in our business”.

He assured potential investors that their investments would be safeguarded to ensure that they recoup them within the shortest possible time.

Mr Nogael noted that ; “Africa is going to grow, so it is our way of partnering businesses and governments in Africa to provide jobs for the people”.

Mecatherm, according to him opened an office in Dubai in October 2013, dedicated to the African and Middle Eastern markets. Among the countries in which Mecatherm recently installed its equipment on the Continent: Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Equatorial Guinea, Mauritius, Democratic Republic of Congo, Tunisia, Mr Nogael mentioned.

In Africa, the annual bread consumption per habitant grew by 4.1% over the last few years. Wheat importation (grains and flour) grew from 39.6 million tonnes in 2013 to 4.3 million tons in 2014, he quoted statistics from the International Grains Council.

For 50 years, the Group accompanies many of the current market leaders from their first automated production line up to their current pool, constituted – for some of them – of more than 30 automated production lines, Mr Nogael stated.

He was quick to reveal that 500 automatic lines had been installed in 40 countries worldwide, producing 20,000 tonnes of products every day, whether fresh or frozen, fully baked or par-baked.

It exclusively produces equipment for industrial bakery, excluding any equipment or oven for small-size bakeries.

The Group produces a wide range of solutions, from a single machine to a turn-key project, and works close with its customers from conceiving the whole project to the start-up of the operation, the Head of Business Development of the Mecatherm Group told the website.
