Aston EyeTech Launches EYOTO™

Birmingham, UK, January 22, 2018//-Aston EyeTech, the high-tech developer and manufacturer of ophthalmic measurement solutions, today announced the launch of EYOTO™, a new brand centered around its upcoming next generation eye diagnostic and measurement solutions. 

The company’s new lens inspection technology will be showcased in New York in March.

having recently completed a £5m ($6.7m) Series A investment round, combines leading edge device engineering with advanced intelligent software systems.

The company’s EYOTO™ product portfolio, which will be launched progressively throughout 2018, includes a range of power mapping lensmeters and lens surface inspection tools, binocular autorefractors, and the company’s cloud connected mobile diagnostic platform, which integrates portable hardware, Artificial Intelligence (AI) driven diagnostic systems, and large-scale data analytics.

Instructively, UK-based Aston EyeTech Limited is a 2013 spin out from Aston University’s School of Optometry, an international leader in optometry research and professional training.

The company was founded and continues to build on both the biomedical engineering work of Dr Tom Drew, now CTO of Aston EyeTech, and a unique AI-based ophthalmic diagnosis support platform.

The company is now developing a range of hardware and software products that specifically incorporate recent advances in Artificial Intelligence, low cost / high performance optics, and mobile processing power.

Aston EyeTech received its first small seed investment in 2014 and since then has grown from developer to equipment manufacturer to full technology solutions provider.
