UBA Ghana marked World English Day at Labone Senior High School, aimed at improving students’ literacy and financial knowledge.
As part of the programme, the bank donated a collection of African literature books under its Read Africa initiative. This is aimed at improving students’ reading habits, supporting their academic work, and making it easier for young people to access learning materials. The initiative also encourages students to develop a strong and lasting interest in reading.
During the event, students took part in interactive sessions focused on the importance of English language skills. These activities highlighted how strong reading, writing, and communication skills can help in both academic work and future career opportunities. It also helped students build confidence in expressing themselves and thinking critically.
The bank also used the opportunity to educate the students on the importance of saving and taking ownership of their financial future. UBA Ghana introduced the UBA Teens Account, designed to help young people learn smart money habits early and start their journey toward financial independence.
UBA Ghana says it remains committed to supporting education and youth development. Through initiatives like this, the bank continues to invest in programmes that empower young people and contribute to long-term community growth.
