Warning: VRA Closes Kpong Dam Access Road

FAOTHE management of the Volta River Authority (V.R.A) of Ghana has announced the closure of the Kpong Dam access road to pave way for the execution of a retrofit project.

A statement signed by Samuel Fletcher, corporate Communication head and released in Accra yesterday said the dam access road will be closed to both vehicle and motorbike traffic on Wednesday, December 10, to Saturday, December 13, 2014, from 7:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m daily.

The management of the Volta River Authority (V.R.A) wishes to bring to the attention of the general public that the access road on the Kpong dam will be closed to both vehicle and motorbike traffic on Wednesday, December 10, to Saturday, December 13, 2014, from 7:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m daily.

The closure is to enable the contractor working on the retrofit project, Andritz Hydro, remove the Intake Service Gates on one of the generating units for refurbishment.

We wish to indicate that there will be a guided pedestrian crossing during the period of the closure.

Also, arrangements have been made for situations like the critically ill who would be crossing to access health care.

The VRA apologizes to all stakeholders for the inconvenience this situation might cause.
