Kumasi, Ashanti Region, Ghana//-The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of United Bank for Africa Ghana Ltd, Bernard Gyebi, together with the Executive Director, Daniel Sarpong, led a delegation of the Bank’s senior management on a courtesy call to His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi.
The visit formed part of Management’s stakeholder engagement programme following the appointment of Bernard Gyebi and Daniel Sarpong earlier this year, marking a historic milestone for UBA Ghana as the first time two Ghanaians have been appointed to jointly lead the Bank’s operations.
The delegation also comprised Henry Nii Dottey, Regional Head, Brand, Marketing & Corporate Communications (Ghana and Anglophone West Africa); Rita Mills-Robertson, Head of Corporate Banking; and Belinda Tinkorang, Regional Head, Outstation. Other members of the delegation included Kingsley Essel, Prisicilla Boateng and Thelma Amoa.
Welcoming the delegation, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II congratulated the new leadership on their appointments and commended the confidence reposed in Ghanaian professionals to steer the affairs of one of Africa’s leading financial institutions.
The Asantehene charged the Management team to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and sound corporate governance in leading the Bank. He further encouraged UBA Ghana to continue supporting traders, entrepreneurs and businesses by providing access to financing that would enable them to expand their operations, create employment and contribute to Ghana’s economic growth.
His Majesty also called on the Bank to deepen its presence within the Ashanti Region by expanding its branch network and extending banking services to other underserved communities to promote financial inclusion and support regional development.
Offering his royal blessings, the Asantehene prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for the new leadership as they embark on this important responsibility, expressing confidence that they would lead the Bank to greater success.
Responding on behalf of the delegation, Bernard Gyebi expressed profound appreciation to the Asantehene for granting the audience and for his invaluable counsel.
He assured His Majesty that the Management team would take his advice to heart and remain committed to building a stronger, more customer-focused and growth-oriented UBA Ghana.

The visit reaffirmed UBA Ghana’s commitment to engaging key traditional institutions and stakeholders as part of its broader strategy to strengthen partnerships, support economic empowerment and deliver innovative financial solutions that enable prosperity across Ghana.
