UBA Ghana, in partnership with Drive to Inspire-Africa, engaged students of the University of Environment and Sustainable Development (UESD) in Somanya through an outreach programme.
The session is designed to allow students to engage directly with professionals, ask questions, and gain practical perspectives on various topics, including financial literacy, during the programme.
Elvis Dan-Sekyi, Head of Channels and Distribution at UBA Ghana, led a session on “Money Moves: Secure Your Future,” encouraging students to develop healthy financial habits early.
He shared three key money moves for students: build a savings habit, learn about investing, and create multiple sources of income. He also encouraged students to invest in their greatest asset- themselves- through skills development, education, networks, character and reputation.
Elvis said, “Before building financial wealth, it is important to invest in your personal growth. Your skills, knowledge, experience, relationships, and character influence your ability to create opportunities and increase your earning potential. Continuous learning and self-development are among the most valuable investments you can make throughout your lifetime.”
Drive to Inspire-Africa is an NGO that inspires and mentor’s teenagers and young adults, particularly girls, to aim high while connecting them to opportunities that help unlock their full potential.
The outreach reflects UBA Ghana’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, providing young people with practical financial knowledge and inspiration to prepare for their future careers and contribute meaningfully to their communities and the country.
The bank also used the opportunity to support students with account opening, giving them access to UBA’s banking services.
