Accra, Ghana//-Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama will officially launch Ghana’s first electronic visa service on Sunday, 25 May 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra.
The event is set for 9:00 a.m. and coincides with Africa Day.
The e-Visa platform is designed to make visa applications faster and easier, with the aim of boosting tourism, trade, and investment.
Government officials say it marks a step forward in Ghana’s digital transformation and efforts to make the country more accessible to international visitors.
Under the new policy, African nationals travelling to Ghana will be exempt from visa fees. Officials say the move is intended to deepen regional integration, encourage intra-African travel, and support economic cooperation across the continent.
The launch is part of a broader government push to position Ghana as a leading hub for tourism, commerce, and innovation in Africa.
