
Accra, Ghana//-Eli Hini, CEO of MobileMoney Limited (MML), a subsidiary of MTN Ghana has been named the CIMG Marketing Practitioner of the Year 2020 at the 32nd Annual National Marketing Performance Awards organised by the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG).
He chalked this feat due to his pioneering and transformational roles at the company whose mobile money (MoMo) service has become a household name across the length and breadth of the country.
Even in this COVID-19, the value and volumes of his MoMo service have grown exponentially. So Mr Hini deserves the CIMG award.

MobileMoney Limited which was the first to launch mobile money operations on July 21st 2009 has celebrated its 10th anniversary in the West African country in 2019.
Launched with two main services namely Money Transfer (P2P) and Airtime Purchase, the platform now has six major categories of financial transactions under which varying services are provided.
The services are pensions, insurance, savings, micro loans, shopping, payments, international remittances and banking/investment options.
Additionally, the MML has partnered with several organizations to rollout key social empowerment projects over the decade including helping digitize the Agriculture Value Chain through mAgric, POS in partnership with several banks and scaling up female participation within the MoMo merchant space.
Indeed, almost all the products and services of financial technology (fintechs) platforms in the country are powered by MoMo payment systems.
While the CIMG Awards was instituted to deepen the interest of the marketing profession and that of its members and to ensure that the Institute impacts positively in the performance of its legitimate role in society, the economy of Ghana and the world at large.
The 32ndedition of the Awards also coincided with the 40th Anniversary of CIMG and the 25th Anniversary of MTN and was organized under the theme –‘Repositioning Ghana to leverage AfCFTA for economic development’.
