GIMPA, Rlg Institute Of Technology Seal ICT Education Deal

gimpa 2The Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and the Rlg Institute of Technology (RIT) have agreed to a collaborative programme to advance and promote ICT education in the country.

The two institutions have consequently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Accra to commence a one year Post-Graduate Diploma programme in Computer Systems Development beginning 2015/2016 academic year, pending a programme approval from the National Accreditation Board.

The acting Dean of the school of Technology at GIMPA, Dr Gamel Wiredu and the Head of Rlg Institute of Technology, Mr Kwaku Nsiah Mensuoh, initialled the MoU for their respective institutions at a brief ceremony witnessed by officials of both institutions.

The programme would be run at the North Kaneshie campus of Rlg Institute of Technology under an arrangement which would offer a ‘practice-oriented’ academic programmes which would produce graduates who are both adept in the theory and practice of computer systems development through the provision of excellent training facilities in a conducive learning environment.

The collaboration will also provide tutorial and mentorship support for the practical training of participants.

Dr Wiredu expressed excitement at the partnership, hoping it would further deepen the search for technology savvy professionals and academicians for the country.

He said as international institution of excellence, GIMPA will continue to strive to ensure strict adherence to standards, best practices and high academic integrity.

He was hopeful the partnership with Rlg will be mutually beneficial.

Mr Nsiah Mensuoh on his part pledge the commitment of his institute to ensure successful implementation of the programme.
