Those in attendance had the opportunity to observe an engaging panel session and pose questions to the Vlisco Ambassadors. This session was moderated by TV presenter, Kokui Selormey who led the panellists through discussions on several women related topics, in line with the 2019 International Women’s Day Theme: ‘Balance for Better’.

To provide a truly immersive learning experience, guests were then split into smaller groups and hosted in 90-minute workshops with the Ambassadors around topics such as developing an elevator pitch, techniques for networking, navigating the male boardroom and Emotional Intelligence.

In true Vlisco fashion, two Ghanaian fashion designers, Marise and Constance Mensah showcased their latest collections which featured Vlisco prints during two fashion shows at the event.

Vlisco has long been a brand that not only creates beautiful fashion but one that inspires and champions the role of women in our society.

Vlisco Women’s Month (VWM) is an annual campaign to pay tribute and honour Ghana’s most inspirational and successful women, culminating in the selection of an ambassador who works with the brand to continue delivering the message of empowerment to the younger generation.

This year, the purpose was to create more long-lasting impact with the women they seek to inspire, celebrating Ghanaian women and engaging future talent, thus the Vlisco Women’s Mentoring Program was born.

Each Ambassador will now choose one mentee to begin a yearlong mentorship program creating a forum where they can actively engage with and have a positive impact on the younger generation who aspire to follow in their footsteps.

In introducing the new Program, Vlisco Marketing Director, Stephen Badu elaborated on the mandate to impact the lives of young Ghanaian women not only through beauty and fashion but through insightful conversations with the Vlisco Ambassadors who have extensive experience in a variety of industries.
