The Chief Executive Officer of the Volta River Authority(VRA), Kirk Koffi who made this known explained that the cut would help protect the dam for further damages.

He however told the Minister of Energy and Petroleum, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah at the tour of the facility that the VRA would ensure that production plants at Aboadze were producing enough by October in order not to worsen the current power crisis.

“Our expectation is to cut back the four machines by early October, by which time we think our unit in Takoradi as well as the Tico unit would have been on board and then when we are on board, we cut back to four machines, in which case, the supply situation will not worsen,” Mr. Koffi explained.
