Ghana: Shell Offers Convenience to Motorists, Introduces Motorist App

Accra, October 4, 2017//-Vivo Energy Ghana Limited, the exclusive distributors and marketers of Shell branded products and services has introduced another innovative service dubbed ‘Shell Motorist App’ into the country’s downstream petroleum industry.
The app which was launched yesterday in Accra is designed to offer convenience, real time updates on special offers, personal reminders for oil change, driving efficiency challenge and obtain feedback from customers. The Shell Motorist App is available on Google Play Store for Android and Apple for IOS.
Launching the app, the Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, Mr Ebenezer Faulkner described the app as “the finest motorist app” in the industry with the most exciting and extensive features next to no other.
He said:”This app gives you all the information you require on Shell to help plan your journeys, purchases, oil change and locate quick service restaurant at our stations, and provide feedback whilst offering you an opportunity to improve your driving efficiency, with some exciting prizes as well”.

Mr Faulkner explained that Shell is reinforcing its innovation leadership in the industry by introducing onto the Ghanaian market, the best motorist app with the most exciting and extensive features to make their customers’ lives easier and simpler and more convenient in this digital era.

“Shell understands the changing needs of customers, especially their media habits in this digital age and wants to take the lead in exceeding customer expectations”, he added.

Features of the app

Station locater: It helps customers to find the nearest Shell station; search for specific services including restaurants, tyre centres and the nearest teller machine(s).

News & products: This provides information on new product launches, promotions and special offers at Shell stations including offers from their partners.

Mi garage: The mi garage, according to Mr Faulkner helps customers to keep track of their vehicle maintenance. He added: “It provides personalised reminders for next oil change, a comprehensive list of Shell lubricants, the right lubes for your car and the latest updates on lubricants”.

Shell drive: It helps customers to record their trip to improve their driving efficiency and style. “You will compare your driving efficiency with other drivers in Ghana in a league to win some exciting prizes based on points that you can earn. Improving your driving style will help you save on your fuel consumption”, he said.

The Director of Downstream Petroleum at the Ministry of Energy, Jacob Ocran who was the special guest thanked Vivo Energy Ghana and Shell for championing innovations in the industry.
