Accra, Ghana//-Drama is unfolding as the disgruntled School Feeding Coordinator, Mrs Gertrude Quashigah laces her groves to face the minister responsible for the sector, Sarah Adwoa Safo.
Mrs Gertrude Quashigah was sacked as the acting National Coordinator of Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) some few days ago,
Mrs Quashigah was to leave office effective immediately, a letter dated May 18, 2021, signed by Sarah Adwoa Safo, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection stated.
She was asked to handover any official document in her custody to the Chief Director of the Gender Ministry.
However, sources close the ministry indicated that Mrs Quashigah has run to take refuge at the Jubilee House to put pressure on the minister to reverse the sack letter.
Again, there are ongoing plans to mobilize some women believed to be caterers in Greater and Volta regions to demonstrate against the minister tomorrow morning at the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection premises.
No reasons were given for Quashigah’s dismissal.
However, reports at the Ghana National School Feeding Programme, indicated: “There are a lot of issues bedeviling the programme under her watch, including non-payment of caterers, poor working relationships with directors of the programme and her deputy taking unilateral decisions without consulting the minister.”
Mrs Quashigah has created a lots tension and hatred within the entire programme across the country, insiders told this publication.
According to sources, the sacked coordinator always managed to cry first to attract sympathy meanwhile she is the perpetrator. “She is behind all those audios and voice notes on WhatsApp platforms attacking individuals and some persons “.
Mrs Quashigah has almost about 50 ghosts schools that receive payment, including the ones that her personal Aide, called Aisha, faked her signature and signed for some caterers.
Also, the payment files, which are exclusively available to only senior management of the secretariat have been given to the Coordinator’s nephew, Richard Quashigah who is a known NDC activist and some have been given to some media houses to cause mischief against the government.
Latest development is that the minister is under pressure to reverse the termination letter. In her attempt to return to office tomorrow, her nephew, Richard Quashigah had labeled the sack letter as “fake”.
