Accra, Ghana//-The highly-anticipated demonstration, #OccupyBoG spearheaded by the National Democratic Congress (NDC), is currently underway in Accra.

The protesters took to the streets early this Tuesday morning, October 3 to vent their frustrations and demand to the government.

The primary objective of the protest was to demand the immediate removal of the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison and his deputies.

This call stems from what they perceive as gross incompetence on the part of these officials, which they believe has directly contributed to the financial troubles faced by the Bank of Ghana.

The protest which commenced at Obra Spot and is scheduled to conclude at Independence Square, with a planned U-turn at the National Lottery Authority.

Participants in the protest are predominantly dressed in black and red attire, with many sporting red caps on their heads.

Throughout the demonstration, they can be heard chanting patriotic songs, expressing their collective voice for change and accountability.

The Ghana Police Service says it has taken proactive measures by deploying its personnel to ensure the smooth facilitation of the ongoing demonstration.
