Ghana: First Sky Group Embarks on Corporate Social Responsibility Projects

Accra, Ghana//-The First Sky Group as part of its drive to support communities, institutions, and the country at large, has embarked on series of Corporate Social Responsibilities (CSR) projects in areas such as education, health, ICT, social, environment, church among others.

The gesture ties into the Group’s vision and mission in giving back to society and to exhibit also its commitments towards the socio-economic growth and development of the country as well as the support to humanity in addressing challenging needs of the citizenry.

Notably among such projects includes the free financing of health care for kidney patients at the renal dialysis unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital of which the Group has invested a whopping sum of Ghc Twenty Six Million Ghana cedis on free dialysis to over 300 patients as of December, 2022.

In addition the Group in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Transplant Links of United Kingdom in the year 2019 successfully performed kidney transplants for four patients with kidney failures challenging the Group to establish a kidney transplant centre at Korle-Bu as the first ever medical facility in the West Africa sub-region.

On Church partnership projects, the Group donated Two Million Ghana Cedis (Ghc 2,000,000.00) cash and other logistics towards the construction of the National Cathedral and some generous donations to sixty churches of which the management in 2015 donated some vehicles and 15 sets of musical instruments to churches across the country.

The Group in this regard also handed over 60 completed church buildings with seating capacity of 450 to 650 to the Assemblies of God Church, Ghana to the Eastern and Volta regions respectively with each receiving 30 chapels          and forms part of the effort to address challenges of churches having fellowship under trees and in school classrooms.

In the quest to support and address the incidence of road traffic crashes in the country the Group in 2019 at the celebration of its 16th Anniversary partnered the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) and donated an amount of One Million Ghana Cedis (Ghc 1,000,000.00) and two brand new pickups as part of the drive to enhance road safety sensitization and awareness as a collective responsibility.
