Accra, Ghana, November 11, 2019//-Medical doctors in Ghana  have given the government a one-week ultimatum to address their conditions of service, failure to do so will result in a massive strike in the country.

The members who belong to the Ghana Medical Association (GMA), an umbrella body of doctors in the West African country gave the caution in Tamale, the Northern Regional over the weekend.

A communique read by the National President of GMA, Dr Frank Akobea, said: “A one-week window is hereby offered Government (MoH) that is, if by 1800 hours GMT on 17th November 2019, the Conditions of Service Document for Medical Doctors/Dentists working with the Ministry of Health and its agencies has not been signed off for implementation effective 1st January 2020…”
