THE mining
industry in the Democratic Republic of Congo will in October celebrate top individuals in the sector following the introduction of the DRC Mining Industry Awards.
The awards are scheduled for Kinshasa on October 22.
“To celebrate the success and the loyalty of our event participants during the past 10 years, we are proud to launch the DRC Mining Industry Awards, recognizing excellence within the mining sector and rewarding companies and individuals who have made a significant contribution to the industry,” said event director, Nicole Smith.
She invited the public to take part in the nomination process and there are seven categories to choose from.
“We look forward to a glamorous, sold-out event, honouring the leading lights in mining,” said Smith.
DRC Mining Industry Awards categories are Lifetime Achievement Award, Best performer in Environmental Management, Best performer in Occupational Health and Safety, Best performer in Social Investment, Best performer in Innovation, Best performer in Engineering and Mining Company of the Year.
The DRC’s Chamber of Mines has given its full support to the initiative while the leading mining publication and portal, Mining Review Africa, is the official media partner for the DRC Mining Industry Awards.
