Confirmed COVID-19 Cases In Ghana Rise to 408 with 8 Deaths

Accra, Ghana, April 11, 2020//-The Ghana Health Service (GHS) today confirmed 30 new COVID-19 cases in the country, bringing the total case count to 408 from 378.

While eight patients have died of the deadly disease.

Out of the 408 cases, 205 were reported from routine surveillance, 88 from enhanced surveillance activities and 115 from travelers under mandatory quarantine in both Accra and Tamale, according to the GHS.

The exact location of the new cases is unknown to the public. But the Service said “as of April 10, 2020, a total of 27,346 persons have been tested with 408 being positive for Covid-19.”

None of the patients are currently on ventilators,

The Greater Accra Region particularly Accra is still the epicentre of the outbreak in Ghana with 329 cases. Followed by Ashanti with 40, Eastern (25), Central (one);  Northern (10); Upper East (one); Upper West (one); and North East (one).
