Climate and Clean Tech Entrepreneurs Wanted

Food wasteThe World Bank’s infoDev Climate Technology Program is establishing a network of Climate Innovation Centers (CICs) in selected countries to accelerate the development, deployment and transfer of locally relevant climate and clean energy technologies.

The Ghana Climate Innovation Center (Ghana CIC) will provide early stage financing and other services to enable local enterprises to proactively and profitably develop innovative climate technology solutions that meet local needs.

CIC Mission
The Ghana CIC will provide a holistic set of early-stage financing, business support and capacity building services to the Ghanaian private sector, including women and rurally based entrepreneurs and business owners working to develop, launch and grow innovative, profitable climate technology ventures that promote Ghana s climate resilience and green growth.

How to Benefit from the Ghana CIC?
The Ghana Climate Innovation Center is now seeking applications for the upcoming, Green Innovators Bootcamp an initiative designed to identify future Ghana CIC clients. About 25 entrepreneurs and SMEs will be selected during the first phase of the bootcamp on a competitive basis to participate in the first phase of the Bootcamp. The top performers of the Bootcamp will be eligible for an acceleration program of training, mentoring, peer-to-peer learning and business advisory support worth up to US $10,000. The program will help the selected companies refine their marketing strategies as well as their business and financial plans.

The Ghana CIC and the Green Innovators Bootcamp is intended for:
Green enterprises and entrepreneurs, both existing and well-established and start-ups

ᄋ          Researchers (affiliated with an accredited university or research institute) that provide green innovation services

ᄋ          Consultants, supporting green enterprises

Application Information
The Ghana Climate Innovation Center, in collaboration with SNV Ghana, invites interested parties to apply for the Green Innovators Bootcamp. To apply, interested parties must complete and submit the Bootcamp Application Form. The Bootcamp Application Form with instructions and background information with FAQ can be downloaded from the GCIC Bootcamp website (http://www.ghanacic.org) or requested by e-mail (ghana-cic-bootcamp@snvworld.org).

Application Deadline
The Bootcamp Application Form must be submitted as an e-mail attached to the above e-mail address. The deadline for submitting the form is January 31st, 2015, 11:00 p.m. Ghana time. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
