CID To Conduct AIDS Test On Former Ambassador

PoliceThe Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service says it will conduct a test on infamous HIV/AIDS campaigner Joyce Dzidzor Mensah to ascertain her HIV status.

Mrs. Mensah was Thursday interrogated by the CID at its headquarters in Accra, she confirmed herself.

Head of Public Relations at the CID ASP Joseph Benefo Darkwa said she was invited for questioning following a complaint from the Ghana AIDS Commission.

The complaint follows a confession by Joyce that she had deceived the Commission about her HIV status, which got her a job as an AIDS Ambassador, ASP Darkwa said.

He said the CID would need Joyce to assist it in order to unravel her true HIV status.

Late last year, Joyce Mensah shocked the nation when she made a incredible revelation that she was not an HIV/AIDS patient contrary to her earlier claim which got her appointed as an AIDS Ambassador by the Ghana AIDS Commission (GAC).

She rose to fame riding on the back of her believed HIV status.

The commission by the famous HIV campaigner that she has never tested HIV positive.

Several Ghanaians, including a former Deputy Minister of Children, Gender and Social Protection Rachael Adwoa Appoh called on the Bureau of National Investigations to probe her.
