Argentina Announces New Citizenship by Investment Program

The Argentine Government has officially announced details of its new Citizenship by Investment Program, creating a significant new option for internationally mobile investors and families.

The program is expected to begin receiving applications duringQ4 2026, with two investment routes:

  • USD 350,000 non-refundable contribution to the National Treasury; or
  • USD 800,000 subscription to a government bond created specifically for the program.

Qualifying family members may also apply, with additional contributions of USD 100,000 for a spouse or eligible child aged 18–25 and USD 25,000 for a child under 18. The Government gives the example of a total contribution of USD 500,000 for a principal applicant, spouse and two minor children.

A significant new option in global citizenship planning

At USD 350,000, the contribution route introduces a notable new citizenship option in one of Latin America’s largest economies and adds further choice for investors and families considering international residence and citizenship planning.

The Government has confirmed that applications will be subject to rigorous due diligence, financial transparency and risk-management procedures, including source-of-funds, identity, security and background checks.

As a brief legal note, there remains an outstanding judicial matter concerning the decree underpinning the framework, which Henley & Partners continues to monitor closely alongside the program’s implementation.
