The Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Senegal (APBEFSN) announces the change of its visual identity, now built around the baobab as its emblem and the tagline « La voix du secteur bancaire sénégalais » (“The voice of the Senegalese banking sector”).

An iconic figure of Senegal’s heritage, the baobab evokes rootedness, strength and transmission. It also recalls the spirit of the pénc, the traditional space for gathering, exchange and consultation.

Through this choice, the Association reaffirms its purpose of bringing its members together and fostering dialogue and unity.

The tagline « La voix du secteur bancaire sénégalais » is its natural extension: it reflects the Association’s mission to carry, on behalf of all its members, a collective, representative and responsible voice before public authorities, regulators, partners and users of banking services.

This change is part of the modernisation of its communication tools and reflects the Association’s commitment to moving closer to its stakeholders and making its voice heard in a useful, responsible and accessible way.

It goes hand in hand with the development of its digital presence, through its accounts: • Facebook: APBEF-Sn • Instagram: apbefsn • LinkedIn: APBEF-SN • X: APBEF-SN • TikTok: apbef_sn • Website: apbef.sn.

These platforms will be used to share its news, make its publications and sector data more accessible, and highlight the initiatives, contributions and impact of the profession, while developing educational content on banking careers and on how the banking sector works and the issues it faces.

Founded in 1965, the Professional Association of Banks and Financial Institutions of Senegal (APBEF-SN) is the umbrella organisation of banks and financial institutions operating in Senegal.

Its purpose is to represent the profession before the authorities and social stakeholders, and to uphold its members’ interests and the rules of ethics, governance and compliance. It also contributes to professional training and to the production of sector studies and statistics.
