Agricultural Manufacturing Group Limited (AMG), has held a field day in Botanga in the Northern Region to sensitise farmers on the importance of effective crop nutrition and best cultural practices to improve yield.
In line with strengthening and re-emphasizing the need for efficient agronomic practices the Agricultural Manufacturing Group in partnership with Iddisal organized the field day to demonstrate to farmers the positive results of effective crop nutrition and technology by the application of AMG’s flagship NPK 25-10-10-TE Fertilizer.
The NPK 25-10-10-TE is an innovative intervention from the Agricultural Manufacturing Group – AMG to help curb the instance of performance issues of other NPK formulae in sandy soil areas where as a result of high rainfalls subjects the fertilizer to leach beyond the reach of the crop.
However, with the introduction of the slow release technology, the much needed nutrients lasts longer in the soil, ensuring that the crop is able to absorb them adequately for improved growth and higher yield.
Fertilizer application and Impact
Ensuring the crop nutrition approach is critical to attaining the required and optimum yield. To this end the NPK 25-10-10 which has a higher concentration of nitrogen and other trace elements needed by the crops specifically maize, rice and other cereals has been specially formulated to meet this need.
With the effective use of soil and leaf analysis it has been scientifically proven that to achieve an optimum yield of about 10metric tonnes per hectare in maize production the crop will specifically require 120kg of nitrogen per hectare, 60kg phosphorous per hectare and 40kg of potassium per hectare.
And in areas where zinc is deficient, the application of 25kg of zinc per hectare will ensure the optimum yield.
Speaking to the press, Andrew Nii Adjetey, Sales and Marketing Manager of AMG said that currently the company isrecruiting additional distributors to distribute the new product across the length and breadth of the country to ensure that as many farming communities as possible have access to the fertilizers.
“We take customer feedback seriously, and work assiduously to ensure we deliver quality products unto the Ghanaian market.” he stressed.
On his part, General Manager of AMG Mr Henry Otoo-Mensah also indicated that these demonstrations underscored the viability of plantingduring the dry season stressing that
“We should commit ourselves to more practical ways of ensuring productivity and making food crops cheaper to our citizenry In that case the president’s call for one village one dam will help us achieve this objective.”
Instructively, the Agricultural Manufacturing Group – AMG is a wholly owned Ghanaian company that combines the importation of fertilizers from all over the world with local sourcing and specializes in the distribution of Agrochemicals and Farm tools across the country to ensure that farmers everywhere have access to fertilizers and agrochemicals at their Farm Gates.
