Access Bank Deepens Financial Inclusion

—Unveils Big Deal Campaign

Access Bank Ghana announced the launch of a campaign to encourage Ghanaians to save as part of their culture. This, the bank says, will go a long way to deepen financial inclusion in the country.
According senior officials of the Access Bank, the campaign, which runs from 14th August to November ending, will reward those who imbibe the culture of saving with exciting incentives. The novelty campaign, known as “Big Deal”, aims to encourage the public to sign up to a range of flexible savings and current account options at the bank to secure their financial future.

Existing customers of the bank are also expected to improve their financial well-being by increasing their savings deposits, the officials stated. In her welcome address at the launch in Accra, the Head of Corporate Communications and Brand Management of Access Bank Ghana, Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu: said “We are here to put smiles on the faces of our customers.

“Essentially, what we are trying to do in the promo is to provide our customers with a little comfort”. This, she said, would help reduce their current economic burden. The Managing Director of Access Bank Ghana, Dolapo Ogundimu added: “As a bank, we understand the difficult times that we live in, so we are helping both families and small business owners to secure their future through flexible savings and current account products that promote wealth creation.

“We are also offering lasting rewards to improve their living conditions and give them the little comforts of life”. Throwing more on the newly launched campaign, the Group Head of Personal Banking at Access Bank Ghana, Stephen Abban stressed that the bank aims to put the power of banking into the hands of all consumers in the country and beyond. He insisted that; “we desire to break down the structural and educational barriers that hinder access to banking.

“Through the Big Deal campaign, we are giving Ghanaians more reasons to use savings as a tool for financial empowerment”. During a period of three months, Mr. Abban explained that the campaign would bring the importance of savings to the fore, while giving consumers the chance to win various amazing prizes. He mentioned the grand prize as a plush home furnishing, in addition to many other household appliances, such as flat screen televisions, washing machines, air-conditioners, refrigerators, microwave ovens and food processors.

To enter the campaign, new and existing customers are required to deposit GH¢200 into their savings or current accounts and grow their balances over the three-month period to join the expected 200 customers who will be rewarded with interesting prizes, Mr. Abban stated. Mr. Abban revealed that the bank intends to take the campaign beyond Accra to Kumasi, Takoradi, Tamale and other parts of the country.

Through these tours, the bank hopes to empower thousands of people to save towards a secure future. Instructively, Access Bank Ghana is one of the fastest growing banks in the country, having demonstrated consistent growth in its financial performance over the past four years.
