Accra, Ghana, June 8, 2020//-Ghana today recorded 272 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total caseload to 9,910, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced.
It also revealed that four more patients died of the disease, making the death toll 48.
The GHS in its website update disclosed that all the four patients who died were recorded in the Ashanti Region.
However, it added that nine patients had been healed, increasing the recoveries to 3,645.
The number of active cases is at 6217, the GHS said.
Regional data
The GHS maintained that the Greater Accra is still the epicentre of the disease with 6,436 cases. It followed by the Ashanti Region with 1,734.
With 145 new cases, Western Region’s total figure currently stands at 769. Central 489, Eastern 166, Volta 102, Western North 74 and Upper East 42, Northern region 37, Oti 28, Upper West 22, Bono East seven, North East two, Savannah one and Bono one.
Ahafo Region is the only region without any COVID-19 case in the country.
