Ghana: MobileMoney Ltd Awards Outstanding Key Fintech Stakeholders and Partners

Accra, Ghana//-MobileMoney Limited, the MTN Ghana subsidiary responsible for mobile financial services, has presented awards to its outstanding key Financial Technology (Fintech) stakeholders and partners at the 2025 Fintech Stakeholder Dinner and Awards in Accra.

The awards night was held on Wednesday, 10 December 2025, to celebrate Fintech stakeholders, Mobile Money (MoMo) agents, banks, and other partners who have demonstrated high levels of commitment and loyalty towards the industry

Over 20 awards were presented in different categories, including FMCG partner, corporate partner, tech partner, bank partner, remittance partner, and MoMo partner.

Other key stakeholders who have played diverse roles in the fintech environment, such as Fintech partners and fintech enablers/regulators, were also awarded. They took home plaques.

Some of the award winners received e-cash and plaques, among others.

The Overall Best MoMo Agent award was won by Patrick Penrich Ventures and took home GHC50k and a plaque.

The Overall Best Merchant award went to Ayewamu; that company went home with GHC30k and a plaque.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of MobileMoney Limited, Shaibu Haruna, said: “It is truly an honour to welcome you all this evening. You are the architects of Ghana’s fintech revolution, and I want to appreciate you all and commend you for the work you have done over the years in supporting the growth of this industry.

He added, “Each time we gather here is one of celebration and reflection of a journey that we have embarked together. And together, we are embarking on the lives of many Ghanaians and providing them with dignity, and this we are so cherished and appreciated.

MobileMoney Limited is the largest Mobile Money service provider in the country. It currently controls more than 70% of the country’s MoMo market.

Today, there are over six major categories of financial transactions on the MTN MoMo platform under which there are other sub–services.

On MoMo today, customers are not just sending and receiving money or paying bills; MoMo is now used for Saving, Investing, Payments, Shopping, Insurance, and Loan acquisition.

The company has also partnered with several organisations to roll out key social empowerment projects over the decade, including helping digitise the Agriculture Value Chain through mAgric, POS in partnership with several banks and scaling up female participation within the MoMo merchant space.

Instructively, MobileMoney Limited continues to spearhead innovations and initiatives that facilitate the growth of the mobile financial services sector, which provides customers with fast, simple, convenient, secure, and affordable ways of transferring money, making payments, and doing other transactions using just a mobile phone.
