US Group Boss Arrested By Police

Godfred Medicine, CEO,US Tilapia Investment CompanyTHE founder and Chief Executive officer, of US Tilapia Investment Company, Godfred Medicinie has been arrested by the Ashanti Regional Police.

This follows an order by a Kumasi High court to for him to be arraigned before the court to provide some sureties that he will not run away or dispose-off his assets.

The Kumasi court had ordered an absconder warrant, requiring him to be picked up and brought before the court.

US Tilapia investment Company has been dragged to court by a number of its clients and investors for failing to honour a promised return on their investment. US tilapia promised a 100% annual return or a 10% monthly return on invested funds, but failed to do so.

PRO of Ashanti Regional Police command, ASP Mohammed Tanko confirmed the arrest.

According to him “ a group of people who claim, they have a claim on him went to the Kumasi high court and filed a suit against him and also secured an absconder warrant for his arrest.”

ASP Mohammed Tanko added that “the police officers brought him from Accra. So they detained him last night and this morning, he has been taken to the court for the court to look into the matter.”

He noted that, “it is not a criminal case that is being investigated by the police. It is purely a civil matter that is before the court.”

Scores of people, who were allegedly swindled by Godfred Chief Medicinie, rushed to the High Court Two in Kumasi to demand their monies
from the suspect.

About 90 people in Kumasi alone had filed to the court to order the suspect to pay their monies which he had promised to put into his business with expected 100 percent dividend accruing within three months.

The irate victims had prayed the High Court Two, presided over by Justice Jacob Boon, to order the suspect to pay their monies with interest, as he promised them before they invested in his business.

According to the complainants, the suspect owes them a staggering GH¢740,000.

Chief Medicinie was taken to court Friday morning. His arrest and eventual arraignment in court had spread like wild fire in the Kumasi Metropolis, attracting a colossal number of people to the court.

Meanwhile, the court granted him bail in the sum of GH¢50,000 with two sureties.

The suspect was ordered to deposit documents of two buildings to the registrar of the court as part of the bail conditions.

Chief Medicinie is expected to file his response to the suit filed by the complainants.
