October 29, 2019//-An American business, Agilis Partners, is helping Ugandan farmers increase their yields.
The company is Uganda’s largest grain and oilseed producer and one of its top wholesalers of agricultural commodities.
Agilis Partners is the small-to-medium-size-enterprise winner of the U.S. Secretary of State’s 2019 Award for Corporate Excellence in Sustainable Operations.
(Pepsico India is the multinational winner in that category.) ACE, now in its 20th year, recognizes U.S. companies that uphold high standards in the communities where they do business and demonstrate that sustainability can drive prosperity.

Agilis supplies crops grown by Ugandan farmers to manufacturers that serve more than 500,000 East African consumers each year. The company employs 650 people — many of them women in leadership positions — pays competitive wages and relies on innovation to boost farmers’ output.
