Togolese Parliament Adopts 2020 Budget

Lomé, Togo, October 23, 2019- At the National Assembly this Tuesday, October 22, 2019, members gathered for the 4th plenary session of the 2nd regular session of 2019 with the menu consideration of the budget year 2020 Parliament.

The work was headed by the president of the institution Chantal Yawa Djigbodi TSEGAN. They were held in camera in accordance with Article 95 of the Togolese Constitution and Article 50 of the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly.

Members were asked to vote on all revenues and expenditures of their institution on behalf of the year 2020. Thus, the budget of the National Assembly for the coming year totaled 5,758,718 678 FCFA against an amount of 6,491,161,000 CFA francs, a decrease of 11.3% compared to the budget approved in 2019.

All present were elected unanimously adopted the budget to be sent to the Government for inclusion in the general state budget.

At the end of the meeting, the President of the Assembly congratulated all deputies shot for work in order to provide Parliament of its means of action. Recall that sessions will continue through December with the adoption of the Finance Act, 2020 year.
