Dakar, Senegal, September 19, 2017//-More than 1.5 million vulnerable children across West and Central Africa risk going to school hungry or dropping out altogether, due to lack of financing for nourishing school meals from the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), the agency announced at the start of the 2017-2018 school year.

Khartoum, Sudan, August 2, 2017//-The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) welcomed this week’s announcement of a US$615,000 (ZAR 8 million) contribution from the Government of South Africa that will help us provide vital emergency assistance to more than 10,000 people affected by mudslides and flooding in Sierra Leone.

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) has welcomed a contribution of CAD 20 million (US$ 15 million) from the Government of Canada to implement a programme linking nutrition, agriculture and food processing which will assist almost 1 million people over the next five years.
