The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and the World Bank Group co-hosted a technical workshop in Ghana from June 7–8, under the Improved and Facilitated Trade in West Africa Project. The project aims to unlock transit challenges across key trade corridors in West Africa.
Ghana lifted the ban on the organization of international conferences in the country, following the slow of the Ebola virus disease, which has affected nearly 23,000 and killed over 9,000 people in West Africa mainly in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.
MORE than 370 eligible Ghanaian companies, with over 800 products are on the database of ECOWAS Commission. Nineteen of these companies were given approval during the first half of 2014.
