The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) held its maiden workshop to introduce journalists to concepts of economic transformation. The sensitisation workshop was held jointly with the Institute of Financial and Economic Journalists (IFEJ).
Performance across Ghana’s mineral value chain is strong and policies and laws governing the sector are satisfactory, but improvement is still needed in the negotiation of mining contracts, while environmental laws are not being adequately enforced and land access policies need to be more inclusive of communities affected by mining.
A new study by the African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) indicated that Ghana could raise the standard of living of rural farmers, meet the nation’s food needs, and transform the economy if new approaches to farming, processing, and marketing cassava, cocoa, poultry, and rice are applied.
