Security Expert: Check People’s Backgrounds Before Offering Them Church Jobs

Accra, Ghana, June 3, 2019//-A renowned security expert has advised management of churches in Ghana and other parts of West Africa to check people’s backgrounds before offering them employment in their churches in the sub-ECOWAS sub-region.

Samuel Fiapkui, World Bank Group’s Country Security Specialist for Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone who gave the advice at the month meeting of ASIS Ghana, a branch of  ASIS International, the world’s largest membership organization for security management professionals, noted that it would help improve security at the churches.

He also advised the leaders of churches to include their ushers in the various security committees of the churches to them enable detect and report unusual behaviours of people who visit the churches during worship.

Mr Fiapkui who spoke on the topic-‘Securing Houses of Worship’ called for proper access controls at the worship centres including churches and mosques in the West African sub-region.
