Rwanda’s Minister To Address iPAD Rwanda

Jame MusoniRWANDA’S Minister of Infrastructure, James Musoni, heads up a high-level government contingent that will address the opening session of the inaugural iPAD Rwanda Power & Infrastructure Investment Forum taking place in Kigali from 3-4 November.

The event will gather hundreds of investors, project developers, finance houses, construction and planning companies, technology providers from Rwanda, the region and from the rest of the world.

“Rwanda is open for business: there are enormous investment opportunities in the country’s power and infrastructure sectors and the Kigali government has proven that it can provide a stable and investor-friendly business climate”, Emmanuelle Nicholls said, iPAD Rwanda event director, adding that “the forum will play an important role in the transformation of Rwanda into a dynamic global hub for business, investment and innovation.”

The iPAD Rwanda opening session starts at 09h00 on Monday, 3 November and James Musoni, Minister of Infrastructure, Ministry of Infrastructure of the Republic of Rwanda will welcome the delegates.

The second session of the morning will focus on “Transforming an investment vision into a reality” and will include the following high-level government speakers: Papias Musafiri, Chairman of the Board, Rwanda Energy Group, Rwanda; Francis Gatare, Chief Executive Officer, Rwanda Development Board, Rwanda; and Jean Bosco Mugiraneza, Chief Executive Officer, Rwanda Energy Group Ltd, Rwanda.

TheiPAD Rwanda Power & Infrastructure Investment Forum enjoys the official support of the Rwandan government, the Rwanda Development Board and the country’s electricity utility, the Rwanda Energy Group (REG) is the host utility of the event.

There is also a strong show of support and confidence from the power and infrastructure sectors with Symbion Power who are the diamond sponsors for the event. “Our message is that ‘we have arrived in Rwanda’,” said Symbion Power CEO Paul Hinks. The US company was recently awarded a 50 megawatt Independent Power Production (IPP) project using methane gas from Lake Kivu by the Rwanda Energy Group (REG).

STEG-IS, an international engineering and construction company that has been active in Rwanda for some time, has also partnered with iPAD Rwanda as platinum sponsor.
