
Accra, November 23, 2017//-Her Majesty the Queen of Denmark, Queen Margrethe II, arrived in Ghana on Wednesday evening to begin a three-day state visit on the invitation of Ghana’s President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
On arrival at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, Ghana capital, she was welcomed by Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia .
Dr. Bawumia posted on his Facebook page, “Queen Margrethe II of Denmark is on a three day visit to Ghana, and this evening I had the honour and privilege of welcoming her into our beautiful country. “I wish her a pleasant stay.”
The state visit, according to government officials would emphasize and consolidate the long-standing and well-established relations between Ghana and Denmark while at the same time marking the gradual transition from aid to trade.
The Ghanaian government representatives and a delegation of Danish companies and business organisations will be accompanying her in order to strengthen the political and commercial relations between the two nations.
