MultiChoice Ghana Limited, operators of DStv and GOtv services has announced that it would not increase prices for its subscribers in April this year. The company usually increases its prices in April.

The company said its decision to keep the annual subscription prices at their current level despite a particularly tough year was due to the current tough macro-economic conditions on the African continent.

The General Manager, Multichoice Ghana, Cecil Sunkwa Mills,  noted: “Falling commodity prices affected economies and exchange rates in most markets coupled with US dollar based increases of costs for delivering video entertainment services, has created a challenge for us, however, we recognise that we’re not the only ones feeling the pinch”

“Our valued customers are also suffering so we want to do our bit to relieve the added financial pressure by not increasing the price of their annual subscriptions.”

DStv stuck to its pledge of putting its customers first by ensuring that they can continue to enjoy their television viewing experience without the worry of a price increase this coming April. Just recently, we added more value to their customers’ television experience by bringing one of the most coveted football leagues in the world, the FA Cup, to all DStv packages, according him.

This, along with a new pop-up channel James Bond provides our customers with exciting world-class programming which is part of our brand promise, Mr Sunkwa Mills added.

“We’re truly committed to going the extra mile for our valued customers. We appreciate that DStv has become a central part of many of our customers’ daily lives and they continue to choose to remain part of the DStv family throughout the economy’s highs and lows,” he continued.

Instructively, DStv offers subscribers a unique selection of the best in local and international television entertainment on a range of DStv packages, from DStv Premium to DStv Compact Plus, DStv Compact, DStv Family and DStv Access which are available at varying pricing points to allow subscribers flexibility in price and choice without compromising quality or variety.

While GOtv subscribers enjoy both local and international channels include GTV Sports Plus, Metro, Africa Magic, Africa Magic Movies,  Islam TV, Aljazeera, CNN, SupperSport Blitz, and Vox Africa.
