Accra, Ghana//-MTN Ghana has partnered with Tecno to launch the Camon 30 smartphone series in the country, announcing juicy offers for buyers.

The telecom company said it is offering buyers 2.5GB of free data every month for six months, totalling 15GB over the period.

The Senior Manager for Data, Devices and Home at MTN Ghana, Mrs Gloria Frempong disclosed this at the launch of the Camon 30 smartphones in Accra last Friday.

“Today as we launch the Camon 30 series, we are excited to announce that customers will enjoy 2.5GB of data each month for the next six months.

It’s our way of saying thank you for choosing MTN as your preferred network provider”, she said.

As a platform business, MTN creates opportunities for people to thrive in their endeavours. The unique features of the Tecno Camon 30 series allow our customers to do more, Mrs Frimpong added.

“I would like to focus on one of the unique features of this phone which is the camera. Customers who love to do videos to promote their products can do so using their Tecno Camon 30 series and post it on our yoga channels as well as the other channels to attract the traction they require.

Of course, the camera will also help you capture and share your wonderful pictures and videos with your family and friends.”

She encouraged Ghanaians to visit any of MTN’s service centres across the country to purchase one of the Camon30 Series for themselves, friends and loved ones to enable them to enjoy this amazing experience.

“Let us also remember to share our experiences to encourage others to buy so that together we contribute to increasing smartphone usage in Ghana. The more smartphone users we have in Ghana, the more we share our stories, promote our businesses, and support social interactions”.

I would also like to congratulate them for the progress they have made with the introduction of the Camon 30 series”.

Touching on the long partnership, Mrs Frimpong said: “MTN’s partnership with Tecno has been very good with mutual gains for both sides. Tecno has helped us serve our customers by significantly bridging the digital divide in Ghana”.

She used the occasion to commend Tecno for being a worthy partner and for their constant innovation that has made them a device of choice for their customers.

MTN is committed to leading digital solutions for Africa’s progress, and this is linked to our belief that everyone ‘deserves the benefit of a modern connected life’.

For this reason, we get excited when we see our partners growing with us and evolving to support the progress we are working towards, especially around smartphone penetration”.

With affordable smartphones in the market, we are confident of moving most of our customers to enjoy the benefits of having access to faster internet services and experience.

In a welcome address, the Brand Manager of Tecno Ghana, Lolon Luo indicated that the company is not only interested in launching affordable products in Ghana but rather committed to the development of the country.

He added that Tecno is also committed to bringing its innovative and cutting-edge technology solutions to address the problems of the country.

The National Channel Manager of Tecno Ghana, Ernest Sonkor, noted that Tecno as a global technology leader operates in more than 70 countries across five continents.

He therefore urged Ghanaians to afford every product manufactured by the company.

Reviewing the Camon 30 series, the Training Manager of Tecno Ghana, Michael Mireku-Mintah said the unique selling prepositions of the Camon 30 devices are too many.

These he mentioned include AI-enabled, camera quality, huge memory capacity, 5G-enabled, a strong battery of 5,000mAh which is very conducive for heavy usage, and a 70-watt fast charger.

The Camon 30 smartphone devices according to him, also come with an infrared feature which makes the phone a remote-control device for over 7,000 appliances, including TVs, air conditioners, and radio sets.

So, with Camon 30, there is no need for the user to have separate remote controls for different phones at home or workplace.

Mr Mireku-Mintah was quick to say that Camon 30’s tech-art leather body which has been described as the bionic lotus leaf leather is an industry first.

He explained that it allows users to have a first grip on the phone even with sweaty palms. This enables users to easily use the phone even with wet fingers or a wet screen.

Camon 30 comes in a series of three handsets. These are the regular Camon 30, which comes in two versions – one with 256GB storage memory and 5GB operating memory at the cost of GHS2,945.

And the other with same storage memory but 12GB operating memory at the cost of GHS3,300.

The third version with a storage memory of 512GB and 8GB operating memory is going for GHS4,560.
