MTN Ghana Partners Huawei to Launch Mate 9 Smartphone

MTN Ghana has partnered Huawei technologies to launch its latest smartphone device, Mate 9 onto the Ghanaian market.

The company said the phone is powered by a new generation self-made System-on-a-Chip (SoC), Kirin 960, which is 180 percent better than its predecessor in graphic performance, providing users with a better gaming experience.

Speaking at the launch in Accra, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Asher Khan said: “We have confidence in the Huawei brand because their handsets are durable and affordable for the average Ghanaian”.

We also chose the Huawei Mate 9 device for its many suitable features which we know will provide our customers the level of experience we want them to have on the MTN network”.

According to him, value is a key ingredient of customer experience, so in order to provide greater value for their customers, MTN is giving them 2.5 gigabyte free data for six months when they purchase the newly launched device.

“This way our customers can get immediate advantage of the innovative, reliable services we provide on our superior network”, Mr Khan emphasised.

“We believe with Huawei Mate 9 on the market, subscribers can enjoy movies with quality pictures. As your preferred digital network, MTN promises to bring you more of such stellar innovations”.

Mr Khan therefore encouraged people to purchase the Huawei Mate 9 phone for themselves, families or friends.

The Management Director for Huawei Device West Africa, Eric Long noted the newly launched phone is more efficient than any phone on the market.

The Huawei Mate 9 which operates on Android system, according to him is suitable for the Ghanaian market.

The new Huawei Mate 9 phone is being sold at GHC2,000 on the market.
