Accra, May 23, 2017//- MTN Ghana has partnered Huawei Device to launch its latest smartphone device, Huawei P10 smartphone onto the Ghanaian market.
The company said the new phone is Powered by Huawei’s latest octa-core Kirin 960 chip. It runs on Huawei’s EMUI 5.1 software based on the Android 7.0 Nougat mobile operating system.
The phone has a dual Leica camera setup at the rear as well as a front Leica camera. This 8-megapixel shooter has a brighter sensor and larger aperture lens for better selfies, according to officials of Huawei Device Ghana.
The General Manager for Consumer Marketing at MTN Ghana, Noel Ganson said: “We have seen a lot of interest being shown in the phone and there is an indication that our customs really need the 4G enabled handsets”.
“Through this partnership, MTN is once again partnering Huawei to launch P10 into the market. MTN is confident that the P10 will also make good strides in the market. Most importantly, we want users to have a good experience with this phone”, he added.
This is the fourth handset that MTN Ghana has introduced this year and there are many more phones that will be unveiled, Mr Ganson revealed.
“After acquiring the 4G license, we realized that most of our customers do not have the enabled handset to enjoy the 4G service. Connecting and partnering with these original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) is key and very significant in supporting our digital agenda”.
To support the launch of Huawei P10, every customer who purchases the new phone will enjoy 2.5GB data bundle every month for six months from MTN Ghana, according to Mr Ganson.
He therefore urged the customers of the telecom network to take advantage of the newly launched phone to improve their data experience.

The rear cameras consist of a 20-megapixel monochrome lens and a 12-megapixel colour lens. This dual-lens setup makes it possible to take photos with a bokeh effect where the background is blurred out.
A new Leica-branded portrait mode creates this bokeh effect and combines it with a beauty mode that enhances facial features.
The phone has an identical design having a smaller 5.1-inch screen and a 3,200mAh battery .Unlike Huawei Mate 9, the fingerprint sensor is now at the front of the P10 phone. The P10 also comes in more colours.
