
MTN Ghana in partnership with Africa Movies on the Go (AMGO) which provides the most current high quality full length African movies on-the-go to connected smart mobile devices across Africa has launched AMGO Mobile App exclusively on MTN network.
The app is available on Google Play for android devices, while plans are underway to get other Operation Systems on board.
With this app, subscribers of MTN network can watch downloaded videos offline as many times they want at anytime on their mobile devices, Bless Agordjo, Acting Senior Manager of Products & Services at MTN Ghana said at the launch in Accra.
He added: “With the launch of this app AMGO app, we are providing access to yet another avenue of digital entertainment”. Mr Agordjo was quick to say: “Movies can be paid for using MTN Mobile Money or another electronic payment service of your choice”.
Mr Agordjo therefore urged all MTN subscribers to download the AMGO app and enjoy their favourite African movies in the car on their way to work or with their relatives and friends.
“It is convenient and enjoyable”, he stated.
Mr Agordjo congratulated AMGO on the innovation and hopes that the app becomes a household name for movie lovers within the shortest possible time.
Nana Osei Aboagye, CEO of AMGO, a leading Video-On-Demand (VOD) solution provider in Africa assured MTN Ghana and its subscribers that his company would provide them with quality entertainment content at the right time.
He used the opportunity to urge musicians and video content producers to invest in quality content for Africans home and abroad saying if they invest, Africans will reward them because “we have one billion audience”.
Maximus Ametorgoh, CEO of Pop Out Ghana indicated that AMGO was the improved version of iroko TV and appealed to the youth to patronise the service.
He mentioned some of the advantages of the AMGO service including cable-free, wireless freedom, on-demand viewer solution, and not limited to time.
