MTN Ghana Holds Exciting Y’ello Soiree as 4 Customers Win Tickets To Qatar

Accra, Ghana//-MTN Ghana has organised another annual Yello Soiree in Accra, an event that provides the platform for the top leadership of telecom giant to interact with a key section of their customers in a serene environment.

This year’s event being sixth was held at the plush Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel Accra was filled with music and a series of activities that saw four lucky customers winning all-expenses-paid air-tickets to watch Ghana Black Stars versus Uruguay match at the ongoing FIFA World Cup in Qatar on Friday, next week.

The four comprising three ladies and a gentleman are expected to leave Ghana for Qatar on next Monday.

The annual soiree resumed after three years of absence due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the country in March 2020. The last time the event was held in the country was 2019.

The customers, regulators, policymakers, and other key stakeholders including the South African High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Grace Jeanet Mason, also interacted with the top executives of the company.

In a welcome address, the Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh, said: “Three years ago, we assembled here. But we suspended the soiree because of the COVID-19. Without you (customers), we won’t be here”, and therefore thanked them for their loyalty.

Mr Adadevoh added that although their service continues to be the best in the country, they won’t rest on their oars to get their customers connected 24/7.

He reiterated MTN’s commitment to deepening digital and financial inclusion as part of its Ambition 2025 strategic vision.

The core of MTN’s strategy is to leverage technology to build and enrich lives. “At the heart our ambition is driving digital and financial inclusion to enhance the quality of life of Ghanaians”, Mr Adadevoh explained.

“The pandemic thought us to accelerate digitalisation. We also spent a lot of time thinking about what we can do for our customers”.

According to him, the country is facing a difficult economic situation. So, the company’s new brand theme-doers, is urging all to come together to move the country forward.

“It is the duty of the government, but it is also our duty as citizens to help contribute to the development of the country”, Mr Adadevoh added.

Speaking to journalists after the event, the Customer Relations Executive of MTN Ghana, Mrs Jemima Kotei Walsh also thanked the customers for their loyalty to the brand, saying that “thank you all for choosing MTN. It has been a pleasure to serve you”.

Mrs Walsh used the occasion to assure them that the telecom service provider would continue to work to improve their customer experience beyond 2022.

Similar soirees according to her would be held in other regions just to say “thank you” to their cherished customers.

Some of the customers at the Accra soiree were presented with prizes such as iPhone 14s, iPhone 13s, Samsung smartphones and many others.

The event was also used to celebrate the birthdays of the customers.

Customers in a chilling mood

The telecom company has an increasing presence in the digital space, with accounts on Twitter, Facebook, and WhatsApp, where customers reach Customer Care with their enquiries, complaints, and requests.
