
MTN Ghana has partnered with Garmin, a leading satellite navigation active lifestyle technology company to bring its range of wearable tech activity tracking solutions and products onto the Ghanaian market.
The Chief Marketing Officer of MTN Ghana, Asher Khan said: “As the leading telecommunications provider, pursuing our vision to “lead the delivery of a bold new digital world to our customers”, we consider this launch very important because it brings our digital agenda to life”.
He added that MTN Ghana’s continuous nurturing their partnership with Izone has resulted in the introduction of the Garmin health watch on the MTN’s network.
The wearable tech watches are smart devices that pair with your phone to display personal data, text messages and emails on your device.
“We are indeed happy with the engagements we had so far with our device partner Izone, which is also our key distributor in the Greater Accra Region and Garmin, the manufacturer of the watchers”, Mr Khan stressed.
According to him, the Garmin health watch technology which measures heart rate at your wrist and allows user to track his or her sleep pattern and many more, is good for the Ghanaian market.
“We believe that the introduction of the Garmin health watch is very timely, considering the increasing interest and adoption of healthy lifestyles by many people”.
“This innovative device which runs on data is being launched first on MTN’s network for our cherished subscribers to enjoy the benefits it provides”, Mr Khan stated.
Besides the health watch, vivoFit 3, vivoMove Classic, vivoSmart HR, vivoActive HR, Fenix 3 HR and Garmin Index are some of the devices which were launched in Accra.
These devices have inbuilt activity trackers to track, monitor and record daily activities and motivate its user or customer towards a healthier lifestyle.
The Sub-Sahara Africa Business Development Manager of Garmin, Mike Clarke explained to journalists at the launch that the devices which support various mobile devices operating on Android, iOS or Microsoft platforms allow members to review, relieve and share their activities and to track steps, goals, sleep, weight and calories burned.
MTN is offering a free 3month 900MB data bundle deal for customers purchasing any one of the six Garmin products on offer from its stores including Accra Mall, Osu High Street Mall, West Hills Mall, Achimota Mall, Junction Mall, Neiyaso Kumasi store, Takoradi main and MTN Accra Main.
