Accra, Ghana, May 31, 2019//-The Chief Executive Officer of MTN Ghana, Selorm Adadevoh has revealed that the telecoms company sold out 12,000 boxes of MTN TurboNet devices in the country during the commercial pilot of the device.

According to him, “in order to give customers the best experience on the MTN Turbonet, we did a commercial pilot of the product in February this year to test it and gain customer insights. We have had very good feedback from various stakeholders who have experienced MTN Turbonet”.

Mr Adadevoh who disclosed this at the official launch of the device in Accra, as part of activities to mark the MTN Internet festival (IFest) added: “Some customers have indicated that their data experience on MTN TurboNet in their homes and offices have been amazing. Others say TurboNet gives a fibre- like data experience”.

“Others have said the device experience in locations such as Aburi and Bolgatanga has provided them the same value, speed and excellent internet service.

On social media the testimonials abound on the speed and superior quality of experience the TurboNet device brings to its users”.

Speed tests conducted internally and externally by customers using the device indicate super high speeds ranging up to 300 mbps, he stated.

The fixed wireless broadband device which was commercial piloted in February 2019, is taking the nascent Ghana’s 4G market by a storm.

“A World Bank report has indicated that an increase in broadband penetration increases GDP per capita growth. In view of this, we are excited to introduce onto the market the MTN TurboNet which is a high speed 4G internet router providing a Fixed Wireless Broadband Service”.

Mr Adadevoh was confident that offering their customers a superior fixed wireless broadband experience would enhance business productivity as well as improve the residential market and in effect support national development.

A Deputy Minister of Communications, George Andah who was the special guest of honour at the launch, commended MTN for its continuous investment in the country’s ICT sector.

MTN Ghana executives at the launch included the Chief Marketing Officer, Noel Kojo-Ganson, General Manager of Mobile Financial Services, and Eli Hini, Corporate Services Executive, Samuel Koranteng, while the Board Chairman of the National Communications Authority (NCA), Kwaku Sakyi-Addo led the NCA delegation.
